Tricep Machines
Tricep machines are basically bicep enhancement machines used to either work both biceps and triceps and the same time or to isolate the tricep by lying the upper arm flat on a surface and using the tricep to exert energy needed to either raise or low the weight. The triceps are therefore forced to confront the challenge of resistance.
The tricep machine is constructed in a simple design: a solid steel frame, usually white, featuring a weight stack case set off to the side and an adjustable padded seat for accommodating personal physical needs, with an elevated elbow rest and a cabled press-down bar for isolation of the triceps. Dip machine stations are also ideal. Any weight machine designs for the upper body can accommodate a triceps extension. Machine, free weights, or open flexes aside, triceps development has many possibilities. A tricep extension machine is specifically engineered to focus on this sometimes elusive muscle group. By attaching especially designed extensions to a weight machine for stretching triceps, every bodybuilder can easily exercise those triceps while at the same time flexing them.
Several different types of tricep exercises exists, some more effective than others, but all are simple to conduct. The Close-Grip bench press is very similar to an ordinary bench press except that the grip is closer for a tighter fit of the arm so muscles are tense to meet the resistance of the weights. For those who like cable machines, the Triceps Press-Downs exercise involves pulling a cabled bar downward. This seems to work both biceps and triceps. Yet a third type, the Triceps Overhead Extensions exercise, doesn’t utilize any machine; instead, this exercise employs a barbell over the head and where it is carefully flexed. Triceps Kick-Backs, a fourth method, can be conducted by simply leaning on a flat utility bench and stretching the arm to the resistance of dumbbell poundage. Whatever means one prefers tricep development can be achieve with some imagination.
Bicep/tricep machines, like any other, are available online as well as offline. Prices vary, of course, and discounts and sales are occasionally available. Those who are interested in either buying a bicep/tricep machine or the parts to build a homemade variation should browse and compare products and prices beforehand. Reviews and product photos make this easy.
